ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

for Production Area 

 

  1. The Production Area must be physically separated from other departments/workplaces. 
  2. The Production area must have a smooth floor that is easy to clean (linoleum, marmoeum or similar) as well as smooth and non-peeling walls and ceiling. The windows in the Production Area must be fitted with insect screens. 
  3. The work surfaces, cupboards and racks in the Production Area must be made of stainless steel or covered with plastic. 
  4. Supplies must be stored at the company’s premises, preferably outside the Production Area. The company’s cupboards, shelves and racks must be positioned and arranged in such a way that Ingredients and soaps can be stored dry, clean and neatly, shielded from direct sunlight. The Ingredients and soaps must be stored at a minimum temperature of 15 °C. 
  5. The Production Area must be clean and hygienic and must meet the standards set by the Cosmetics Regulation, whereby work does not generate pollution and takes place according to GMP standards. 
  6. The Production Area must have its own hot and cold water supplies along with drainage. 
  7. Eating, drinking and/or smoking are not permitted in the Production Area. 
  8. Access to the Production Area must be refused to persons with infections diseases and persons with open wounds on exposed parts of the body. Persons with colds and/or excess saliva production must wear face masks in the Production Area. 
  9. All persons present in the Production Area must wear protective clothing, i.e. apron, gloves and hairnet. Protective clothing may not be worn outside the Production Area and must be washed at least once a week. 
  10. Colleagues involved in production must wash their hands with soap and water prior to production and after every trip to the toilet. 
  11. All equipment and aids necessary for production must be washed in hot water and dried with clean towels  before and after every use. If possible, equipment should be disassembled before cleaning. All cleaning materials must be washed or discarded after use. 
  12. Immediately after production, the operator must package the soap products in a suitable way. Soaps that should first rest or dry before packaging must be covered with a clean and dry cloth. 
  13. All soaps must be packaged and stored by the operator in a clean and undamaged state. All soaps must be clearly marked. 
  14. During the production process, the operator must regularly check the shape, colour, fragrance and consistency of the soaps. If in doubt about quality and/or hygiene, the operator must immediately contact Gildewerk Quality System for further instructions. The Operator must keep the batch in question separate so that there is no chance of it becoming intermingled with batches already approved.
